Did you understand the call? Okay the ball is hit to center field, pv's player catches it, but drops it but she holds on to it long enough, when she hit the ground it came out so she throws the ball to 2nd base and gets the runner out. THat is 3 outs, the inning is done, and the run does not count! How is that a bd call. If the run would have counted, remember Coeburn lost by 2 runs not 1 run.

Re: softball score
That was not the call, the call was that the second out was the force out at second and the 3rd out was the tag on the runner coming back to second to tag up because she thought she caught the ball. So the run should have scored. The umpire even admitted that the run should have scored after the game. But it is over and done with now, things like this happen. Oh well it was still a good game

I've seen & heard both sides pertaining to this story. I'm speaking the truth...and I'm shutting up again. </div></div>
I would have to humble agree with Cane on this one.

He never said any ill thing about the girl. He is onlt voicing concern that her parents are going to affact her chances in the future. What he speaks, I for one have witnessed. THat does not mean that they are not good people outside of softball games, I am sure that they mean well a lot of the times, but they potray it very differently.

If it had been as bad as you say then the umpire would have calmed it down. All they were saying was that the pitcher (from PV) wasnt throwing very consistent and Coeburns batters were swinging at terrible pitches! They were hollering at the batters not the pitcher! They swung at stuff that was not even catchable....they were way to aggressive, they needed to make her throw strikes! They were not being ugly to the pitcher, maybe being loud, but is that illegal? Coeburn gave PV a very good game, and it could have went either way, a Coeburn's pitcher did her job very well! And remember, Coeburn is a team that has only one senior, they will be back, and much better! </div></div>
They are not in the LPD next year though.

im pretty sure thats inaccurate. </div></div>
That is the Gods honest truth...2 feet above their head and some of Coeburn's girls swung the bat...All they had to do was stand there. </div></div>
Did you ever thin maybe, just maybe, PV was throwing it there because they were swinging at it? Strategy?

I am not fully up on the story, but with the way you are stating it here, they are all force outs, and the run wouldn't have scored if I remember correctly.
A fly ball was caught (out #1). Runner on 3rd tags to go home which is fine. Runner on 2nd is in between 2nd and 3rd and has not tagged up. Runner on 1st is in the same situation. If you tag the bag at 2nd the runner between 2nd and 3rd is forced out, and if you tag the runner coming from 1st without tagging she is forced. That is no different than throwing to first for the force out.
Now, if she had tagged up from first, then it would depend upon whether the runner crossed home plate before the tag was applied.
I may be mistaken, but I believe that would be the proper application of the rules from the way you tell the situation.

But I am just a fan...and I know different things offend people in different ways...but I just didn't think that was right to say about a high school player. Again it is just my opinion...... </div></div>
That was not degrading her... that is just the way the coach positions his outfield, really.

Re: softball score
Vocal fans at games are nothing new I see them at every sport at just about every level.
#1 I wish that every fan/parent would only cheer for there team and not down another team but that does not happen.
#2 I Hope that most players at the HS level can block out the fans and would be unaffected by pretty much anything
#3 If the fans are tring to coach the kids from the stands then that IMHO is a bigger problemthan yelling at the Ump, Coaches, and mabye even kids I think that if that was the case the Coeburn coach may need to take action to keep vocal fans from undermining his coaching
